Year Of No Light are a french Sludge tinged Post-metal band. Year of No Light slightly but undoubtly started to slide down to gloomier atmospheres as the inherent chaos of Bordeaux’s caves and harshness of winter made their common work. Year Of No Light is a very interesting and different band, so if you like Ambient Doom, Drone/Sludge Metal and Shoegaze, you will love this band. The Deep Six compilation was released March 1986 (catalog# CZ001). It was the very first release by C/Z Records, a few months before the release of "Sub Pop 100" from Sub Pop Records. It was also arguably the first record to influence the later "Seattle Sound" that would be known worldwide as grunge. Album contains tracks from Green River, Melvins, Malfunkshun, Skin Yard, Soundgarden, and U-Men.
